Clown killer ?

I am looking for yerars for a movie I saw when I was young and scared me so much ! The only thing I remember is the death of one of the characters : a man who goes at from a big house, at night, probably he is looking for something. He climbs a ladder, I think, but the killer make him fall down, in a reservoir of some liquid (water ? Wine ?). I remember the killer was wearing a clown mask, and waited to kill in the darkness... Is it this movie ? Thanks.

No, doesn't sound like this movie at all. You could be thinking of CLOWNHOUSE or THE CLOWN AT MIDNIGHT.

I know it isn't Clownhouse, as I own that film.
I don't think it was The Clown at Midnight because all of the kills in that film happened inside a theatre, so it wouldn't have been outside.
Perhaps Out of the Dark? I haven't seen it since I was little, but it's the only other killer clown film I can think of besides the ones mentioned (and the camp blood flicks, which I haven't seen).

Here are a couple more films you can look at to try and find the film you are talking about:

Evil Night has a killer in a clown mask
Slaughter High has a killer in a jester mask

Any other film I can think of with a clown-masked killer is either too recent for it to have been a film you saw when you were young, or I know for a fact that it is not the film you are talking about.
I'll try to do a little bit of research on the films I mentioned and let you know if any of them have a scene similar to the one you described.

Could it be this film then? I read the whole story at The Terror Trap. It's a deranged child-man that hides out in the attic of a Sororty House, his mother hides him and he dresses like a clown.

No. He only dons the clown suit at the very end of the movie and doesn't kill anyone while wearing it. I really dug that movie though, and the clown suit was awesome.

Actually, as wallacesawyer said, it might have been The Clown at Midnight. I know I said it wasn't, but it's been years since I've seen it, and reading up on it, the clown throws a guy off the roof of the opera house, and also throws a guy off the catwalk, so one of those scenes may be what cooper-61 was asking about.

I tried to find out about as many clown-killer films that I could. The only other ones that I can find besides the ones that we've already discussed are Fear of Clowns, which is too recent, S.I.C.K. which is also too recent, Deadhouse, which is definitely too recent, and Killer Klowns from Outer Space, which is obviously not the same movie.

So, I say that it was probably The Clown at Midnight or Out of the Dark, as it's been a while since I've seen either one. Anyway, I hope we've helped you out cooper-61. I know I hate not being able to figure out what film I'm looking for. I still have a few I'm working on trying to figure out.

I just wondered. I read the killer put on a clown custume, but earlier he had killed some people, some guys. And the only way to get into the attic was a ladder in the closet. So it may have been the ending.

Oh, I understood why you would think that. I was just saying that, as good a guess that is, I've seen the film fairly recently and so I can tell you without a doubt it was not that film. That's all.

Just in case. If it's not THE CLOWN AT MIDNIGHT

A picture I found. BLOOD HARVEST, there's a clown on the cover.

Definitely not "Blood Harvest."
Don't let the poster fool you. The killer in the film is not the clown.
Though good guess.

Another film I recently found out about is "The Clown Murders."
I don't know much about it though. Maybe I'll look into it.

A Canadian film. I don't think the clown is the killer in that either. A clown gets murdered I think was the mystery.

you think its this movie. you know, the one were at. i have "class reunion massacre" on VHS and there is one part where the Redeemer is wearing a clown mask. he only wears it once. more towards the middle. speaking of "the clown murders" did you see John Candy in that flick. crazy. but i too am at a halt, ive seen alot of clown movies, but i dont know what your talking about. clownhouse ruled.

reply

Sounds like a scene from Hell Night, although, there's no clown mask.

From what I remember, it's not "Out of the dark". In this one, the clown (a nasty looking nasty critter) only kills prostitutes. That said, it's not as bad as rumored to be (even if it stretches credibility now and then !) But it comes from VCR times memory, so…

i think the movie you want is slaughter high. that movie had a killer in a jester suit and a scene like the one you described.

There IS a clown sequence in this, but its not the one you're describing :)

there is a movie I saw when I was like 7 & I do not know the name of it. All I remember was a Clown is in one of those gym shower rooms, there is a woman there & he starts talking to her, she's scared & they cut to close ups of his face talking then he grabs her & as the showers are running, we know its just hot water, he just starts forcing her to get wet with the hot water & she is screaming in pain. WHAT MOVIE IS THIS?

Sounds like a scene from this movie, the Redeemer aka Class Reunion Massacre. The killer does in fact dress as a clown for one death scene where he drowns a woman in a school bathroom just as you describe. :)

hello cooper-61

the scene you described sounds familiar to me
but the film I have in mind is dark night of the scarecrow
could that be the one? that it is not a clown but a scarecrow?
