cans of Macaffreys and a drunken Sheen

The start of this film is downright laughable. Charlie Sheen as a cop lying about his cottage in the scottish highlands pissed out of his box from several cans of McCaffreys. At one point hes trying to snog a 'mysterious woman' hes pulled from somewhere (presumably, the sofa hes been crashed out on) and she simply struggles free and storms off. He deserved better than this.

Did you watch the entire movie? It actually was quite good. Sheen wasn't a cop, he was a writer who wrote about serial killers, thus getting involved in solving a case about a necrophiliac. He was sober at the end.

He was on the front page of Scotland's Daily Record for trying to buy drugs during production of this movie during 1997. He popped up again in the papers after he had invited a woman back to the Hilton for a party. Top Man!

Conclusive proof that Charlie Harper is Charlie Sheen!

I streamed it on Netflix, I probably would be ticked off if I had to pay to rent a disc. If you aren't a N/F member you can sign up for the free 2 week trial and watch it for free. I think it is well worth paying for it after the free trial ends.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check at the library first. I watched this flick in 2006....OMG my brain cells are dying!

How is the opening scene laughable? I found it very effective, with a convincing performance by Sheen and some very creative camera work.

As for the rest of the film, I found it inconsistent. The atmosphere is uniformly strong, but I think the dialogue and plotting were excessive – too much telling, not enough showing. But I don't think Sheen is the problem here, and he's made many films less deserving of his talent. 6/10 stars from me.

I think the only person pissed out of his box was you when you watched this movie.

The "mysterious woman" was the interviewer from the talk show he had just been on. He walked off the set when she asked him how he could pity a child murderer, then when he was back at the cabin about the time he received the first fax, he is on the phone with her apologizing and he asked her over so he could make it up to her.

Another decent movie from Pyun.

This movie was actually decent, not brilliant or anything but it was OK. I wish Sheen could do something like this again but better.
