I'm not 10. Its not a DCOM. I am 100% sure. O and dont do that whole "recently posted by AJBKarateKid" cuz its getting annoying! Like I said I'm not 10, I'm just a kid who loves movies. I own 198 and PUNKS is proudly part of the collection.

Ok..i'm 23 and i remember when this movie came out <B> ON THE DISNEY CHANNEL</B>!! All movies filmed on the DISNEY CHANNEL ARE DISNEY MOVIES!! This was one of the better Disney Channel Movies.

So to the guy who's going all ape because he's saying its not a Disney Movie...check to see who filmed it and what CHANNEL it was released on before you attempt to back something up. If your going to argue about something make sure you have stuff to back it up.

Trust me...i'm a history major...we learn to back up our arguements!!

reply

I know you probably don't care or anything...but it physically hurt my head to read things that are incorrect like "ect"...ouch it hurt just typing it...

I figure it's not a typo because you used it once before. I don't mean to come off rude but please type it correctly so I will feel less pain.

(BTW the correct "spelling" of the abbreviation is etc. - short for et cetera Latin for "and other things")

Again, I don’t say this to be rude…just trying to help. Both you and me would be helped by this because someday someone much more important than me will call you out on this mistake.

BUT, if it was just a typo disregard this whole statement.

reply

Just because a movie premiere's on Disney Channel doesn't make it a DCOM. Bob the Butler isn't a DCOM, no movies made before 1997 are DCOM's either.

They specticully say Disney Channel Original Movie if they are. I have no idea if this or Northern Lights are DCOM's. This may be but I don't think Northern Lights is.

now i don't know if P.U.N.K.S. was a DCOM or not...so cool your jets imdb-ers. i DO know however why they don't show it on Youth age 7 rating tv anymore. In the movie Jessica Alba's character puts a basketball under her shirt and pretends to be going into labor so that the gang can distract the security guard. Because that is remotely related to teen pregnancy, it was no longer an option for showing in early 2001.

so there.

...and then they made me their chief.

reply

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Channel_Original_Movies

P.U.N.K.S is on there. Plus I VCR'd it when it first came out. It was on Disney.

reply

Then why have I NEVER seen this on disney channel. also, as Maserati7777 pointed out, bob the butler(also part of my proud DVD collection) is not a DCOM, and it was released onDisney Channel, too. Also as said before DCOM's CLEARLY state the disney channel original movieness on it. so as i have said before, and ill say it 10000000 more times to get this throught to you, it is not a DCOM!

reply

look ill solve this problem its a DCOM go to wikipedia.com and go to disney channel click orliginal movies scroll down and haha thers P.U.N.K.S

reply

Ya well there have been many instances where wikipedia is WRONG!
NOT A DCOM!

reply

http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18706

There's the answer. And, yes, this movie did originally air on Disney. No theatrical debut, just Disney then the DVD. If you didn't see it on Disney it wasn't shown anymore after about 6 months after the release from what I remember. So you either missed it or are too young (1999 >_>)

Deffo a DCOM. Check out website!

Thank you to all who posted that stuff proving it was a Disney channel movie. I specifically remember watching it on Disney, but all the opposition was staring to make me think I must have hallucinated the whole thing! I now know I am not crazy.

Anyway, has anyone else noticed that this thread has completely deviated from the original topic? It was about Jessica Alba. I'm sure there's a thread out there debating this issue already, so I think everyone should move their arguements to that one. And if there isn't already a thread with this discussion, make one!

reply

I've seen it on Disney Channel zillions of times.

Theater:Spider-man 3 9/10
DVD: Gremlins 8.5/10

reply

Damn! I've seen that movie a hundred times, and I NEVER noticed that that was her. It blows my mind that she was in a Disney movie!

reply

not a disney movie!!!!!!
here are some facts to prove it...

1. I does not say disney dvd on the cover, as ALL disney films do.
2. it doesn't do the cinderella castle thing at the beginning or the end,
and all disney movies do
3. disney showed movies that aren't disney movies, ex: casper meets wendy, dr. doolittle, ect.
4. on imdb, all tv movies have (tv) next to the title, but PUNKS doesn't
5. This movie has an MPAA rating, while all other DCOM's have no rating or a TV rating
6(and most important) It doesn't say "a disney channel original movie" at the beginning oF the movie however all dcoms do

hmmmmmmmm.
well, i guess all these BACKED UP facts (take that Mr. History major) proves that Punks is

NOT A DISNEY MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now my movie collection is up to over 300 (pretty impressive for a 13 year old, huh) and Im now evev more devoted to all of my movies

If you can prove the facts wrong, please, feel free to correct me :P

reply

Then how come it says on those links (on a Disney Channel website) that is is a DCOM movie!!

Next time use URLS (and not random geocities crap either) to back up your stuff!

And i'm not a MR...i'm a MISS and i already have my degree!!

Larry: I'm evolved.

reply

Congrats Ms. History Major. I care so much! You should know from websites like wikipedia that not all sites have correct info.

Punks is not a disney film. Or maybe you didnt notice that it doesn't the disney dvd introduction after you press play (you know, when tinkerbell comes out and flicks her wand and the music plays and it says DISNEY DVD).

reply

wow, this really sad that u are still arguing wit every person that gets on here a year and a half later. haven't u grown up at least a little bit?

*drive it like u stole it*

reply

hey ralf macchio i don.t remember the castle before any touchstone pictures...

this movie is sucks too, except for the great hambinio..

i already am upstairs you dummy

reply

I'm not someone who gives up without a fight. I don't plan on stopping this until I prove to all of you PUNKS is not disney in any way. Besides, this whole thing doesn't go in my mind every day, but whenever I see the punks message board, i see how many of you stupid idiots say how you think punks is a disney film. AND ITS NOT!

reply

oh man, i find it so funny that you call us idiots, when you're the one who is arguing that it's not a disney movie.

the movie premiered on disney channel. true it is not a DCOM (since the actual name was not applied until recently) but it was made by the disney channel. it had no theatrical release and was promoted as being a movie that the disney channel made.

reply

Is it not possible that the movie itself is to old to have all those things applied to it? Isnt it one of the first disney channel movies to come out? I remeber it very well. It is a disney channel movie. For those of you who wonder why it may not be labeled as a diney channel movie remmeber what its about. A cousin who steals cars, children who run amuck. Come on, with all the liability crap that goes on now a days, do you really think disney is going to play that movie to young impressionable children? Look at all the other disney movies. Are any of them like that. I remember the premere. Its a diney movie. Whether or not disney plays it or claims it anymore. It could very well be a nother company bought it and brought it to dvd.

reply

And for those of you who are still non believers.

http://disneychannel404.com/dcom.html go here.

reply

point me to a sign of Disney's presence in the movie itself. then ill beleive. anyone can put something on a website it doesnt mean its true!

reply

Dude seriously you gotta relax and move on with your life. It originally aired on Disney Channel which would make it a Disney Channel movie...I'm sure we can all agree on that. Anything that is first aired on a program is considered "orignial" then this leads me to believe that this movie is in fact a Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM). It aired on Disney, it's original, grow up and go do normal kid stuff like playing baseball and hanging out with your friends instead of spending your free time checking the PUNKS messaging board for someone to argue with

reply

Since it was one of the first DCOM movies to be CONSIDERED a DCOM Movie, and "DCOM" was a phrase not yet used by Disney at the time the movie was released on video, the "DCOM" signature on the video is absent. Still, P.U.N.K.S. is very much a Disney Channel Movie.

Once again, Disney does not show it anymore because of the Jessica Alba basketball-labor scene.

reply

i remember this movie at all.. i really want to see it again!
does anyone a horse movie that used to be on disney channel? i dont remember when it came out but it was really sad. This boy lived with his grandma and one day his grandma died so he moved in with his uncle or something like that. He worked on his ranch and one day his faverite horse broke his cousin's arm [the ranch owners' son] so they were going to kill the horse. So main character stole the horse one night and hiked with him and was trying to get ahold of his dad so he had to travel to the city. but anyway it was a really good movie and i really wish i remembered the name.. could anyone help me out?!? :]

reply

theres nothing funnier than a bunch of 20 year olds arguing over weather disney made a childrens film or not.

By the way its not made by disney...i own it on VHS..no disney signs..plus it was filmed/made in 1997, the didnt made DCOMs back then

reply

[deleted]

dude i was like 9 when this movie came out

reply

ok

a. half baked ur wrong i only check these message boards for punks every few months or so.
b. i was pretty young when this was released, so i guess i gotta go with u on the fact it was on disney channel
c. punks has a trailer, since when do DCOM's have trailers?
d. punks is not a dcom. u have shown me proof of it being a dcom exactly where i don't ask it and never wehre i do askit. please show me a sign of punks being a dcom by telling me a part on the dvd case or in the movie itself. otherwise, i will always KNOW that punks IS NOT A DCOM!!!

reply

AJB ur so right. PUNKS is not a Disney Channel Movie. you're right a lot of online sights are incorrect. you should all listen to AJBKarateKid
