I loved this movie!

I cannot understand why this movie is rated so low. I loved it! It was hilarious! It's one of the very few movies (besides "Snatch") that I can watch over and over again and still enjoy it. I thought it was original and very entertaining. It doesn't have slow parts and that's rare for a romantic comedy. And don't let me forget the music. Wonderful!
My favorite moments are the chinese restaurant one with the "Eat cookie NOW!" and when Hugh is trying to speak like an Italian-American.

I absolutely agree with you. My favourite moment is also when Hugh speaks with a weird accent.
At that time, I'd almost cried.
Even to me, who is Korean and poor at English, it sounded really really funny and weird.
Hugh was absolutely fantastic in it. (And I also love Notting Hill)
God I hope I can watch this movie one more time! (or five more times)

The movie was above average, it was a good Mafia-Comedy I can't think of any better than this one. High Grant did a good job, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Oh yeah, me too! My best friend and I had a bash watching this and replaying the really funny moments again and again. Lessee, there was Hugh Grant's run and his girlfriend laughing and telling him to run "normally," the accent-tutoring session, practically the entire wedding...

Ah, here's to fun, shallow pursuits. That's what makes life great. ^_^

"It was dark and still." "Still what?" "Still dark!"

"Why do you wear that stupid bunny suit?" "Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?"

This movie is up there on my funniest movies list.

I think the best parts is when he's in his office at Cromwell's and he's trying to distract Gina from seeing the painting of Jesus with the gun. Also when he is in the restaurant and he try's to shake the gun out of his pants and it hits the waiter who falls to the ground. And when Michael and Gina are confronted by Johnny in the apartment and Michael is holdiong the talking Gorilla ... "I have imposible thumbs" LOL. So many great laughs in this movie. Hugh Grant has to be one of the greatest comedic actors of all time.

I was expecting a heap of rubbish from all the bad reviews this movie got - and it was actually a very good funny movie! Did the reviews even watch this film!? I remember one review saying that Hugh Grant's attempt at an Italian accent was terrible...but that was the point!! It was supposed to be terrible!!

I loved this movie. I can watch it over and over again and still laugh as much as I did as the first time I watched it. James Caan was awesome.

oh my goodness me too!! Every time I watch this movie I have tears in my eyes. Mostly cause of the whole steak house scene. :P too funny!!

Mickey Blue Eyes is one of those films i for some reason keep coming back to from time to time and it always amazes me that it's funny everytime.I can't help but laugh out loud everytime i see the film. I've always liked Hugh Grant-movies (call me crazy if you like) and his scenes with both James Caan and James Fox are absolutely priceless.

"Forget about it"

I must say that I really am not a big Hugh Grant fan. I don't dislike him, but I certainly don't go out of my way to see a Hugh Grant movie. But man, I loved this movie. I thought it was hilarious. Everybody did a fantastic job in this, and I simply cannot understand how it could be rated so low.

reply

LOL, I TOTALLY AGREE,. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST FILMS EVER MADE!!

Loved this movie. So glad to hear there are others who feel the same way. Everytime I see I keep forgetting that Elizibeth Hurley produced it. She doesn't seem the type to make farce-comedy movies.

It's unbelievable this movie is rated so low. My wife recommended it to me and we had quite a few good laughs.

My favorite moment is the one when Hugh Grant is ordering steak with a mobster tone.

The bit where Hugh physically abuses James Fox in the restuarant then escort him out is PISS-YOUR-PANTS funny
