Underrated

Why don't some people like this movie? It is better than that toilet-mouthed garbage that some more modern "funny" movies use. If only people liked Ernest more.

I like Earnest I guesse, and ya it was better than most of the racey comedies made in the 90's, even it was cheesy, it was still funny.

The Ernest movies are indeed underrated. Such a funny character, such memorable lines, and genuinely funny material without all the gratuitous sexism found in the material of many other comedians like that of Adam Sandler (don't get me wrong--I love his movies, but I really could do without all the boob jokes).

I agree people don't appreciate Ernest enough these days. Sure, the films were no masterpieces of cinema, but they were good light hearted fun a whole family could enjoy.

I've been scared to watch these later lower-budget straight-to-video entries like this one though. I've always loved the early theatrical releases like Ernest Goes to Camp, Ernest Goes to Jail and Ernest Scared Stupid. But I think I'm gonna give some of these straight-to-video ones a try. I'll probably start with Ernest Rides Again and Ernest Goes back to School. If I hate them, so be it. But it's time to give them a chance.

I saw "Ernest Rides Again" in the theater. So it most definitely wasn't straight-to-video. Just a bomb :-(
