Ian Cullen in Planetfall

Well a new week has begun and we only have 3 days left of our Kickstarter.

After working alongside each other on a number of both Theatre and Film projects Writer Gav Balfour and Director/Actor Chris Harrison have joined forces with Planetfall, a science fiction short that very deliberately strips away the romanticism of Space Travel and tells the story of one man, isolated and facing death - a human story portraying one man's descent into madness and the effects that has on the psyche. This film is being produced by the newly founded “We are Ensemble” which aims to create a platform of creativity, workshops and development for the local community in a number of different mediums with a hands on approach, creating exciting and engaging products. The project will thrive on working with no constrictions of budgets and pushing the creative boundaries within those limitations.

On the crashed shuttle "Nozomu", Theo Aldiss finds himself alone with a limited period of time before the ship self destructs.

After what seemed like such a slow start to the 'Planetfall' project things have moved along with great and unexpected speed and outstanding support from the wonderful folk of Dundee and all around! We reached our minimum target for the project on Kickstarter, attracted the talent of actors Tony Osoba (Porridge/coronation street/Doctor who) and Ian Cullen (Z cars/Family affairs/Doctor who), obtained a location to build the set thanks to the support of local amateur dramatics group Dundee Dramatic Society and have gone on to prep for the build, really looking forward to working with the good people of skill share who we hope can assist us by building some of the kit required from scratch!!!

Both Tony and Ian are also willing to advertise the film at coming Who conventions which is a huge deal for our visibility!

What we hope to do in the month to come is hold our fundraising pub night to raise additional funds so the volunteers can have the best experience possible and we can provide them with food and drink during production and a 'thank you' gift at the big screening. We have managed to pull our own money together to make a collection of prizes and had generous gift donations from The Little Theatre and Chris Scott Photography! Also hope to have some entertainment in the form of some local musical talent including Syann Gilroy. Just need to get our fingers out and print some tickets!

We are very grateful and overwhelmed by the support and we want to keep the momentum and interest going so please, have a look at the links below, spread the word and if you can chuck us a quid

Much Love and Thanks From Myself and Everyone at Planetfall HQ!

Director.
