How does this compare with 'BraveStarr' and 'Galaxy Rangers'?

If you've seen all three, what is your opinion on each? How do they compare?

I've only recently discovered that 'Saber Rider' & 'Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers' exist, and haven't gotten a chance to watch them yet, aside from some youtube clips [though I have plans to watch them both soon]. 'BraveStarr' I recall pretty clearly, including the toys. All are similarly themed, in that they have a certain Western in space motif.

As you're likely a 'Saber Rider' fan, what sets the show apart? What do you like about it?

Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs was originally a Japanese anime series called Sei Jūshi Bisumaruku (Star Musketeer Bismarck) that was dubbed and edited for western markets, with changes to the story and some new animation made in the process. As a result the English language version suffers from some stilted dialogue and disjointed storytelling.

Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers was a blend of western and Japanese influences. The show's producers, writers, designers, storyboard artists, and voice actors were mostly based in the U.S. while the animation was done by the Japanese studio TMS. Galaxy Rangers was more sophisticated than most American animated series on TV at the time.

BraveStarr was made entirely in the U.S.A. by Filmation and is devoid of the anime influences found in Saber Rider and Galaxy Rangers. BraveStarr has a look and tone similar to other Filmation productions from the 1980s, such as He-Man and She-Ra.

*cough* *Cough* Wow, I forgot all about this post. Thanks for taking the time to answer in such detail.

Since I started this thread I've checked out Galaxy Rangers and BraveStarr. I agree w/you about both. GR definitely has a slightly more highbrow and/or sophisticated vibe than your standard cartoon from that era. It's also a tad dry for my tastes. Killer soundtrack though.

BraveStarr is more or less MOTU in a sci-fi western setting.

I literallyonly heard about Saber Rider the other day. Considering the action cartoons i watched in the 80s, i wonder how this one slipled past me.
