now i hear there was supposed to be one this year but the script wasnt delivered in time so now they will bring one out next year, im happy there will be more royles but why do shows keep saying this is likely to be the last when there still planning on banging them out

I don't think having a Christmas special once a year is "banging them out". I actually look forward to it at Christmas although the quality is not what it once was.

They've been awful. The only good spin off since the series ended was The Queen of Sheba.

I remember a few years ago, Cash & Aherne were saying they wouldn't do another episode (after the second Xmas special) for 10 years, and it would be set something like 20 years later.

Interesting to know how that would've turned out.
