Sickening

Was anyone else seriously disturbed by the Royal variety performance footage of Cilla Black and her light up tits and fanny.

I for one am now scarred for life. Even now thinking about it I have to try and stop my dinner from coming back up.

ys i aw this episode last night [as you did] and was slightly bewildered and eversoslightly scared at cilla black lghting up her unmentionables.

What's that? You just called me a bastard didn't you!

There was something very wrong about that. Very wrong. She could have probably just got away with the top 2 lights, but the fanny? No. Worryingly, every time I see that clip I get an odd taste in my mouth. I can't explain what it is but I don't like it.

Oh get over it, its a traditional costume from the song "You gotta have a gimmick" from the musical 'Follies'.

The "gimmicks" are:

1) Trumpet blown by bending over and blowing it (with yer mouth) so the open end sticks between your legs and under your butt.

2) Light up boobs and crotch (and when Funny Girls did it, they had a light up Blackpool Tower hat).

3) Leotard and butterfly wings.

And she did it well, even if you didnt like it.

A bit late I know but still worth metioning (IMHO) 'You gotta have a gimmick' is actually from the film 'Gypsy' (about the stripper Gypsy Rose Lee) not 'Follies'.

Great film!

Think it was on the Gyles Brandreth episode who was surprisingly good. In fact there have been a couple of guest, I would thought I would like but did- Terry Wogan comes to mind as well.

I'm safe saying this here because this thread hasn't been touched for over three years....Cilla was quite fanciable in the Sixties and early Seventies. I had a huge crush on her, watching her Saturday night variety show when I was ten and up. The idea of her tits and fanny lighting up, well...I'd just like the chance to make 'em glow!

See you in three years.

Awight we're The Daamned we're a punk baand and this is called Carn't Be Appy T'day!
