Opening Titles Question

I'm re-watching the early series on DVD at the moment and there is a question I would like to know the answer too.

In Series 1 - 4 opening titles, the first TV screen on the left side has footage of Elaine C Smith speaking directly to the camera, now this obviously not from Rab C. as she hasn't got the Mary Doll wig on, what is it from and why is it in the titles?

It's probably taken from one of the Rab C sketches in Naked Video.
