Things I don't like about the series.

The depressing episodes. Like for instance the two part story where they thought Rab had cancer. I never watch these episodes now. The episode with Ricky Fulton as the estranged pensioner. Depressing and not fun at all. It's a sitcom that tackles topics other shows probably wouldn't dare touch. But some topics just aren't fun to watch. And I look for escapism in my sitcoms. Not depressing topics for story-lines. Thankfully there's not too many of these.

No Norrie. No Two-Ways. More things working against the show. I know the Two-Ways isn't there anymore. Or so I read. But they could have had Norrie transferred to the new pub. I wonder if the Norrie actor is like me. He thinks the show has had it's time. No need to drag it on. Showing all the characters older and less funny. Hence the reason why he never appeared.

The reunion episode at the end of my Series 1 to 8 boxed set. The show has long since lost the magic it once had. Rab using the F-word. Then running round with grey/white hair. Yeah that's not how I want to remember the characters. This episode showed what S9 and 10 would be like. Which is why I bailed after the S1 to 8 boxed set.

Finally. Gash. He should have been written out. Not replaced 9 series into the show. That's wrong. And it's bad enough that I have no interest in seeing S9 and 10. Adding the fact they use Gash but it's not Gash. Well that doesn't help things any. I heard the Gash actor has a teaching job now. Why would he give it up to come back to a sitcom that should have ended on Series 8.

Rab: "Take a man's faimly away and whit's he got?"
Jamesie: "Nothing but money and freedom!"
