Not a bad little Western. Great characters, good stories, nice mix of comedy and drama, somewhat authentic looking, and no gimmicks. Classic Western themes and situations - although perhaps this was a limiting factor as far as the writing went. There's only so much you can do with the Old West and most of it has been done before. That's why the characters are so important to this show - they strike good balance between familiar Old West archetypes and quirky individuals. Sorry this went off the air, but I'm still watching the reruns.

The characters and cast were perfect, I could watch it over and over, in fact I do. I think that S2 showed what the real potential of this series could have been. It is a shame that someone was not farsighted enough to realize that at the time and give it the chance it deserved. Amazing the number of fans it still has and that there are new fans coming in now that the DVD's have been released.

It is what it is.
