Why Confederate?

I dont think there is historical basis for this. No one in history did more harm to civilians than the Federal army- starving people and raping women. This is just really insulting. Many Native Americans fought in the Confederacy as well. This is really faux history at its worst.

Please offer citations for your questionable, possibly biased, view.

Please cite the numbers of Native Americans that served in the Confederate Army.

Also numbers of women raped by both armies, just for comparison's sake. Please include any slave women that where raped as a full person and not 2/3 or property.

I can only guess by civilians you are discounting slaves as being only 2/3 of a civilian.

I have only seen the Pilot movie. Were former Confederates a recurring enemy in the TV series? I'm sure both sides were responsible for terrible crimes, but the villains in the Pilot are a mere rag tag group of ex-Confederate soldiers under leadership of a once honorable but clearly deteriorating drunk Col. Emmett Anderson. They invaded the small village of Natives and former slaves to steal supplies, food, and supposed gold. But when the villagers hired the "Magnificent Seven," Anderson decided rather than retreat he'd tear the whole village down, even making his once loyal Captain Francis Riley see that this is getting far out of hand. There is no honor in what they're doing. Anderson was once a great man during war time, but now that the Civil War is over, he doesn't seem to know how to stop fighting.
