Question About The Cave Part

Why did it take them so long to get out of the cave, when all the massacre was going on ? when they were entering the cave being careful it only seemed to take them a minute to get to the hole, yet when they discover the truth and try to warn the others it seems to take them forever to get out of the cave, yet they would of been running like hell to back to the party.

Great scene but i think there is something definately wrong. with the times there, because it seemed to take them longer getting out of the cave, than entering it when it should of been the other way around.

They just didn't feel the need to show them slowly walking all the way in. That would have been boring and unnecessary, no?

"That is terrible advice, Ant1238."

I'll rewatch it again but if i remember rightly, couldn't they still hear the party outside when they reached the hole ? i remember the colonel shouting from outside "Boyd" or something then Guy Pearce's character say's "the colonel's calling us".

Surely they couldn't have been that far away ? its not such a big deal and doesn't take away how awesome that scene is. But it just seemed like at first they wern't that far away, yet when the *beep* hits the fan they seemed to take forever to get out of the cave despite running like mad.

Climbing up a rope takes longer than climbing down one, but that doesn't really explain the long delay.

Reich knew that Colqhoun had been restrained, so why did he feel such an urgency to return after making his discovery, and why did he feel Colqhoun set a trap? The massacre occurred only because the victims were so slow to defend themselves.
