iTunes Iron Giant is NOT the Signature Edition.

I have confirmed that the digital file downloaded from iTunes for The Iron Giant is not the Signature Edition as of 10-05-15 even though the have the new poster image. The download does not feature the two new scenes.

Being as composer Michael Kamen passed away a number of years ago I'd be curious to know what music was used for the new scenes. My understanding (from the "features" on the DVD) is that the additional scenes were only sketches at the time. It doesn't seem likely that they would have been scored.

Yes it does. In iTunes, go to "my movies," click on the movie image to bring up details, click on iTunes Extras. It'll bring up the menu where you'll have the option to play either the original theatrical version or the Signature Edition.

Signature Edition on DVD and chill.

I'm still curious as to if/how the additional scenes were scored. From the trailer (usually not a good indication) it seems as if they used a Pop song in the diner scene and re-cycled some of the "Trance-former" music for the Giant's dream sequence.

I wouldn't want someone else scoring this other then Michael... hmm. I never really thought of it before, but it's definitely better The Iron Giant was only scored by him or, God forbid, someone who could manage to be halfway what he brought to the first movie.

I just watched signature edition last night on DVD and it's been a while since I saw this great movie, but I don't know what's the difference between signature and the regular version ?
