Wow that kid was the most annoying character ever

He was portrayed there like this typical brat with all the ugly kid features, too. Sorry, but that's just true. And his terrible screaming voice in every part.

Nah.

Can't stop the signal.

Can't take the opinion of someone with "hentai" in their name seriously. Just saying.

He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man.

reply

He didn't annoy me whatsoever.

reply

Yes, he was.
And I had heard how underrated this movie was, how awesome and how people didn't go and watched it because people are dumb and so on.
Come on!
It's OK. It's just an OK movie packed with cliches and this kid is one of those cliches.
The ending is so rushed. Everybody is like "Oh. A nuclear bomb is coming towards us..OK; that's sad, but that's life". WTF?

reply

meh. I've seen a lot worse.

I do agree that Hogarth is kind of annoying and lies through out the film but keep in mind, he's only like a tween or something, that's the age kids start going through puberty and start doing childish things. After all, I still liked this film, I'm pretty hard on animated films but the boy didn't bog down it down too much for me. :)

Though, like someone else said, there are worse pre-teen characters that whine even more so than Hogarth.

I hope that there is an Evangelion video game where you can beat Asuka up!

Kent is the antagonist, it makes sense for Hogarth, the hero to be showing hate towards him. Also, while Kent may seem like a nice person, what he does to Hogarth is child abuse and he wants to kill his friend, the giant who has done nothing wrong. Think about it, if somebody wanted to abuse your friends, wouldn't you go crazy and get revenge on that person?

Kent was evil and I don't remember if there was any backstory explaining his behavior but I was mad at him, too.

The only troublesome behavior I recall from Hogarth were a few, such as the saying grace scene (which may be because he thinks his mom would be suspicious of a big strange thing entering into her house and might cause her to call the cops and cause more trouble to the government) and the coffee scene (he is like nine years old and he wouldn't mind trying any type of coffee.

But other than that, he is a smart, mature, and kind kid. He is not what you call, a boy-next-door, a person that is so wholesome that they think that everything should turn out alright in the world, and he's not strict.

His voice may have sounded a bit dated but this is a movie that came out in the 90s so it doesn't concern me that much.
