and why was the original cast fired ?

Loken :)

and original cast was replaced because the shows bosses wanted it to be more air force orientated, which Brolin disagreed with.

Uh, no. The show was about MARINES, not Air Force. That's for all seasons.

The 2d and 3d seasons were made to be more MARINE Air Wing oriented instead of the Air/Ground theme of the 1st season.
