Just noticed - Mr. Fischer's Shop is across from...

...a "washateria". Now, this is noteworthy to ME because a college friend of mine from Houston would refer to the place where you go to use coin-operated washing machines and dryers as the "washateria", and not "laundromat" as I've always used and heard. I've never been to Houston and never heard it referred to as such again, until now, when I noticed the name on the building across from Mr. Fischer's barber shop.

[Just googled the term and I guess it seems it's a regional language variation.]

"A chain of Laundromats in Texas that dated from 1930 to 1950 had the name Washateria, and it took hold as a general term, especially in Texas."
