Fascinating Wes' surreal Max & Rushmore Academy blending with 'reality'

Bottle Rocket, pretty much everything is on the level reality wise, save for Dignan who is of course the film's main attraction character.

The Royal Tenenbaums to follow was just about 90-95% surreal Wes universe immersion.

Rushmore however retains that extra degree of fascination because of Max Fisher & Rushmore Academy, both spot on Wes creations. Miss Cross is not a caricature, & Max's new school is certainly not either. Having them intertwine as they do remains a special feature none of his other films, while I love them all, quite share.

His films feel like Radiohead's discography for me like that. Intro release, whatever we make of it. Follow up, a few tastes blending of different worlds. 3rd piece? All in going to a place we've only previously imagined.
