Cash a 10K personal check at check cashing place at 11pm???

What check cashing place does that?

And don't they charge some sort of fee for cashing a check with these check cashing places?

If so, Mike wouldn't have an even 10K to play.

A bit of a stretch on all counts, I agree. Since it was New York, I figured there might be some late-operating check cashing places. Don;t know if that's realistic or not. but cashing one for that amount and not even taking a fee? Tough sell, screenwriters.

The guy cashing the cheque was wearing a yamaka(sp?), it's possible he was a friend of Petrovsky's.

Paper... snow.... A GHOST!!

Yes...good catch...in the script, but was cut out of the movie, petrovsky calls the guy at the check cashing place, since it's his friend that works there or owns it, and asks the guy to cash it and not charge mike any fees.

One of many plot holes and weaknesses.

It's barely worth it to have seen it, I guess, but not in my top 200.

Are you kidding? It's considered THE definitive poker movie.

Peeps on YT still comment "Don't splash the pot" and "Pay that man his money" on poker videos...
