Why is Gramma pissed (spoilers)?

This has probably been pointed out before, but does anyone else think it makes no sense why Gramma is pissed that Mike lost to KGB? Mike can now pay him back in full vs. KGB winning and Mike can't pay anything back. The only thing he misses out on is beating up Mike.. am i missing something here?

Teddy KGB bank-rolled Gramma, so he's a partner in other words. I'd say he actually lost about $5,000/$7,500 when Mike won, but that's just a rough educated guess. It's really hard to say how KGB went about the whole deal with Gramma. I'd have to watch it again to see if any of that was mentioned.

Several possible reasons.

1) He's just an a-hole trying to mimic the frustration of his senior business partner KGB.

2) Since being a partner with KGB likely owned some of the ~$50K KGB lost during the final two sessions.

3) Mike and Worm are no longer on the hook and the juice stops. Loaning money is all about the interest. Even credit card companies prefer a cardholder who can't pay off their monthly statement. The credit card industry slang for a person who pays off their card monthly is deadbeat. The deadbeat who carries no balance pays no interest to the card company.

4)Any and/or all combinations of the above.

He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.

Yeah, that was needlessly cliche. Reminded me of the kids at the end of Karate Kid. It made sense with Worm, he obviously hated him. But there was no animous between him and Mike.

But Mike winning got work off the hook, too - and, like you said, Gramma hated Worm

reply

Because he knew he just lost a cash cow. They weren't going to kill Mike, it's bad business after all. They would have had him locked down for a long time, taking half his winnings until the debt is paid off which would take a long time.

Just like credit card companies dont like when people pay off their entire debt at once, loan sharks are the same way.

It makes more sense to earn a little bit of money over time, while earning interest, than having it all at once.
