US edition

Please note that the US version of the movie is really bad. Unfortunately, if you don't speak polish, this is the only one that has subtitles, so you will not be pleased.

The US version does not have an easy to use menu to choose the episodes that are on the disk. You have to know that there are two episodes on each disk and they can be accessed only by choosing the scene selection menu.

I found it really disappointing that the movie was made in full screen with two stripes (above and below). The resolution is awful. I've seen this movie in the theatre and it was painful to watch it from this substandard DVD.

If Polart really wants to distribute movies to US market with any success they have to realize that distributing movies in 480P to a market that has upgraded to 1080P TV's and projectors is a bad idea.

This is a great movie, the book is even better. I think it deserves to be remastered in high definition. I hope someone smart is working on it in Poland and I hope it will not be distributed by Polart after this disapointment.

Uhm everything fine but what is "Polart"? Polish Art? Polish Walmart?

It has been a while since you posted this, but just in case you are getting comment notifications...

Polart is an American company that distributes Polish-language films in the US.

I saw this in the theater (in the US!) and don't remember the breaks between episodes. When it came on in the DVD I was like "what is this!?"
