Plausible ending?

Is it possible Ethan never went back to Africa but decided to live in the subtropical jungles of South Florida?

It is plausible because he doesn't have a passport or any identification needed to board a plane. It was Africa though, or else the ending would be stupid if it was just Florida.

reply

It doesn't matter where he went, the scene is mearly to convey that Ethan was returning to his place outside of civilization.

You're getting to caught up in the details to understand the meaning.

reply

I understand the meaning. Ethan loved the true nature of all animals. Not just gorillas. So yes, it is plausible.

Think outside the box

I agree, and also chose to push aside thinking of the whole ending too much. Although it puzzled me I loved the movie too much to overanalyse (sp?) it too much. I choose to believe he snuck on a plane over... or swam with some superhuman strength... okay I think I'll stick with my first assumtion for now... :]

If there should ever have been an alternate ending to this movie it should have been Anthony turning into Hannibal, eating Cuba with a furyosity never displayed on screen.
