Any news on DVD release?
I loved this movie. So excited it's getting the DVD treatment! Any news on a release date? Or what the transfer will look like? Anything??

Yeah I too bought the amazon digital copy. That print has seen some better days! That sucks to hear I was really hoping this wouldn't get the same treatment past Code Red DVDs have. AKA they get announced and then nothing!

A shame about Popcorn, Jill Schoelen rocks. I agree i'm very happy with what I hear is coming out in 2012. American Nightmare!!!!
shareGhostkeeper and Popcorn are scheduled to be released in Feb/March of 2012. And, as for 'nothing', with Code Red you have to snoop around the web. Bill posts on at least one message board, and that seems to be where most of the updates pop up. The Popcorn and Ghostkeeper updates appeared on their blog today:

It's been frustrating for me too, I was expecting it to be out August 2011 but that's how it goes. Bill from Code Red called me Tuesday Feb 14 and is sending a preview copy to me which I should have in the next few days. The commentary and an interview with the "old lady", now 86, is worth the price alone, a lot of fun and insight 31 years later.
All previous copies were on VHS and made from 3/4" video, which is really crappy., this DVD is made from a real 35mm print and pretty good quality.
BTW we're having a Ghostkeeper party at the original hotel in Lake Louise sometimes soon, gonna screen it and also have a great time. Everybody's welcome, the hotel loves the movie and the original part we shot in is going to be torn down in 2013.
Hoping to shoot the sequel in Nov/2012. Sequel is set 31 years later... with the real actors and a cast and a lot more stuff.

Wow! Great to hear about the sequel! I'd love to see that! I 'm just so excited about the release. I hope the preview copy is satisfactory! One of the things I'm looking forward to seeing is the transfer. I also only saw this movie on Amazon instant and the quality wasn't very good, although that didn't stop my from enjoying this rare obscure film! It was very well made!

Apparently they're going to 'test the waters' with selling their releases directly to us customers (Ghostkeeper is up first!).

It's actually available now from Code Red and it's one of the first they're selling directly without a distributor. Email [email protected] with questions. Currently it's $21 through paypal, with postage in US. But may want to confirm via email first before sending money.
