Boring, plotless, pointless, brainless and STUPID!!!

Why did I waste ninety minutes of my life on this piece of crap? Badly acted, horrendously directed and utterly devoid of a coherent story (climaxed by the brain-dead lead squashing a rat), how the hell does this thing garner these sort of numbers in here? Anyone giving this thing a 10 must be a masochist, desperately in need of therapy. First love? For whom? Obviously not these two sexaholics (though none of their sex scenes could ignite a candle). Last rites? Who for...the rat? That's about the only thing actually dying in this film whose title itself is a blatant lie.

My only consolation is that I found this for 2 bucks in a bargain bin, but I WANT MY NINETY MINUTES BACK! Curse each and every talentless hack who birthed this hunk of s**t!!!

Helluva response, pal.

Esskayess, I am not usually one to point out how horrible a movie is and tear it to shreds but yet today... I've decided to change things.

I totally and utterly agree with you. Love Giovanni Ribisi, love independent films, love films that makes the viewer "think." I am very open minded- saw the movie with a clear and indifferent mind.

I absolutely disliked- h a t e d- and now hate is a very strong word for me.

It was dull, boring, pretentious and made me border line angry at the end of the film.

I want my 90 minutes back as well and although you bought the DVD look at the situation in a positive way... Atleast you've got a pretty coaster!

You missed it then..amazing movie!

I disagree. If you've read the short story, you would see the underlying symbolism of everything. Its about a couple experiencing everything for the first time--sex, periods, love, escalating infatuation, abhorrent desires, becoming animalistic in their sexual decadence, and in the end, realizing that the passion they once had, like with all relationships, is a phase, and ends. But that doesnt mean its over. Its about coming to terms with that. Its long, lazy, dreamy and aimless...like most first loves. Movies dont always have to be pomp and circumstance to be beautiful.

Then they did a poor job translating the short story to film. I understand everything doesn't have to be "Hollywood" or things can be abstract and beautiful with a different and unique message and essence. (Hello- 2001 Space Odyssey!)

However... I'm not buying what this film is selling- I see through this movie like a wet paper bag.

The only reason why I remember this movie is because I disliked it so much!
