Help with a movie

There's a movie I saw a while ago that I thought was really good, but I don't remember what it was called or a lot about it, but when I think of Before Women Had Wings I also think of the other movie.

A woman is telling her daughter about her life for some reason. I think it starts off with a woman giving birth on her bed. Ummm the family doesn't have a lot of money so the Mother prostitutes herself out and when the daughter becomes old enough, she starts doing the same thing.

Wow I don't really remember much at all. Hmmm. Well if anyone knows what I'm going on about, thanks.

OH I KNOW THAT MOVIE! It's called "The Secret Path"

It starts out as the main character in the present telling her daughter about her childhood in the South. The whole movie is pretty much a flashback. Her mother was a prostitute and when she got older, she was forced to become a prostitute too (by her grandpa). She finds solace with an older black couple. And she eventually gets away from her crazy family.
