Considering the budget, still terrible, avoid like the plague.

So, there I was browsing through the Sci-fi DVD section on eBay when I noticed this film. The cover looked good and so did the blurb included in the item description. As it was only cheap, and as a fan of low budget movies I decided to have a punt. Strangely (or so I thought) I ended up being the only bidder and won it for £2 including postage.

At this point, I want to make it clear that my three favourite films are all low budget movies, and numbers four and five were both expected to flop but became huge hits. Therefore, I am used to watching a film and being able to look beyond special effects and instead concentrate on the much more (imo) important storyline and acting. The power to move someone and connect with them is of far more concern than a bit of albeit clever CGI etc.

So, I began to watch, and the opening bit were you see the outside of the spaceship must have taken up all of the non existent budget because after this things became dire, even for a low budget movie, and I love classic Dr Who! So I know all about low budgets. During the next 10 minutes, nothing really happened at all, and this became the main theme of the movie. After a load of completely inappropriate reciting of classical verse we are forced to watch one of the worst and badly acted crash scenes of all time, and I’ve seen some bad ones.

Once on the planet things don't get any better and we are then left with a group of people not really doing anything of note for the rest of the film, whilst pausing to stare into space and recite yet more classical verse at totally inappropriate times and for know real reason, which is just cringe worthy with it's delivery. All this while acting very badly for the most part.

So on they go, and by now, I’m hoping that they all just die, especially the main character who is a complete moron and would do much better listening to the supposed bad guy who actually was the only one with any common sense. The actors did not engage at all and you couldn’t have any sympathy or empathy for them whatsoever. Come the finale I still had a little bit of hope and thought maybe there could be some redemption from this mess. However, I couldn't have been more wrong, the main point was soo predictable it wasn't funny. I remember just before it happened thinking anything but that, and then it happened.

The only redeemable thing in this entire monstrosity was a minor plot twist at the end which did nothing for the story accept make it even more pointless, but deserves to be mentioned as it did deviate from the usual clichés this filmed relied upon.

Overall, this film is the worst movie I have ever seen. I have never before seen a film and been so disappointed. It is a master class on how not to make a film. Luckily, I managed to find someone stupid enough to buy it of me when I stuck it on eBay, unlike some unfortunate soul on here who tried without success 7 times. Trouble is, I felt so bad for inflicting this utter tut on them that I very nearly offered them a refund. It has nothing to offer and should be avoided at all costs as there is no story, no acting ability and the whole thing is no more than a waste of time.
