Weird cut in the DVD version

For the life of me I don't know why this was cut.

It's early on in the movie; a couple of airline pilots are transporting several dead bodies. One guy is like, "I'm depressed. I'm transporting dead bodies. I should have a party." and the other guy is like, "Do they whine? Do they complain? Do they ask for more of the little almond things?" and the first guy is like, "You're right. I'm happy. I love this job."

The cut comes in what happens next:

The pilot who was depressed starts shouting at the caskets from the cockpit: "GUYS! HEY GUYS!" and proceeds to crack jokes about their destination (New York or something). "It's a great town." After a few moments of silence, he turns to his buddy and goes "No sense of humor." His buddy just grins and says, "Dead crowd."

The DVD completely skips that scene and immediately segways in to them hearing a thump in the cargo bay.

Why on earth would you cut something like that?

As I write this, there is no artwork posted. It also has the words "TV Series" under the title. The movie didn't come out in 1976 either.

Either way, as far as the 1987 movie goes....you're mistaken. I have the original laserdisc release and the scene plays out the same way, and I saw the movie in theaters back then and don't recall ANY such dialogue you claim was cut. What you're thinking of, which HAS been seen in a print shown on TNT, were several deleted/extended scenes which were never included on the DVD release, and that airplane scene was one of them.
