Anybody else think this show was staged?

I always kind of thought it was for some reason. For one, I'm almost certain I read in an article somewhere about one of the panelists admitting they knew before hand what the talent was but I can't remember where. Plus this show always seemed to be all about comedic effect like having an animated CatDog as one of the panelists, and stupid slime actions like "Being an All That Cast Member" or "Having the First Name Danny." I think the panelists knew before hand what the talent was and simply pretended they did not know.

I totally agree with you that it was staged that the panelist did know the talents. cuz if u really do think about it, at the last guessing round somehow everyone knows the correct answer from the limited clues they get. they play stupid until the final guessing round. and from like toothpast they get oh u collect shark teeth. its really unbelievable but when ur like 6-7 years old u will believe anything, u will be like oh wow that person is smart u know. but i do agree with u that it did seem staged now that i think about it when im 18 and not 7 lol.

I will bump this old post.

I think the secret slime actions were just made up on the spot after they chose the cast for the episode

As for having CatDog as panelist, Jim Cummings voiced Cat, Tom Kenny voiced Dog.

Jim and Tom just had to ask their own questions, in character.

if Kel Mitchell can rap a verse as Ed on Immature's song "Watch me do my thing" then I don't see how Jim and Tom cant just simply play along as CatDog

It's weird, I'm watching it lately and I think the same thing.

What really gets me is I could have SWORN that somewhere on the internet I definitively heard from one of the cast members that they knew but just played around to let the kids get the prizes. But, I can't find that interview anywhere! I am pretty sure it was in one of the Adventures of Danny and Mike podcasts actually but I don't want to go back and listen to them all again...

Update: I found what it was. Episode 5 of the Danny and Mike podcast around 16 minutes they start talking about it. Danny was adamant that it wasn't fixed but he did say that they would be relaxed about letting the kid have the prizes. But if the kid was a jerk, then they'd get serious and really try to figure it out!

That decides it for me, anyway. He seemed very honest talking about it and it's so so many years after the fact I doubt he'd just keep up the ruse. I'm glad to know it was real.

I know this comment is years old, but Lori Beth also said a few times that the guessing was all real.
