You've got dvd's of Ark 2?? Where did you find that? Is it an "official" dvd or bootleg? Is it US and Canada? How much did you pay for it? Got any reviews of it?
Sorry to barrage you with a bunch of questions, I just didn't know that there were any discs of this series available. -- Tejas, Robin Desert Moon Art http://www.desertmoonart.com
This was my older brother's favorite show when we where kids. I don't recall too much about it other than a psychic girl and little flying robot things. I may be wrong though. It was a long time ago.
Also while I can't recall much about the show, I still have dreams with the Ark vehicle in them. Pretty weird.
I'd really like to know where to find a DVD of this show too. If I gave it to my brother as a gift he'd probably pass out. =)
Its probably bootleg. There is an unoffical website that keeps up with the show and current events. Apparantly the holding company that owned the rights finally sold them off.
I rather suspected they were bootleg, though we obviously haven't confirmed that at this point. Still, anything's better than nothing at all. -- Tejas, Robin Desert Moon Art http://www.desertmoonart.com
This is from a press release earlier this year. Filmation was the producers for ArkII, Isis, Shazam!, and some other family shows.
Its highly unlikely, but possible that they relased a DVD already for the show. A quick search of Amazon show nothing.
Entertainment Rights buys Filmation
After failing to acquire kids IP outfit Chorion earlier this year, Entertainment Rights has now bought classic global animation library Filmation from Hallmark Entertainment.
The $20m (£11m) deal increases ER’s library to over 1,700 hours, making Entertainment Rights "the number 2 independent children’s intellectual property owner in the UK", according to ER. It also continues ER's recent moves into boys action product.
The Filmation library features over 500 hours of programming across more than 30 different titles including He-Man and Masters of the Universe, She-Ra, Ghostbusters, My Favourite Martian, The Lone Ranger, The Archies, Fat Albert, Sabrina and Bravestar.
The acquisition "greatly enhances our content offering of wholly owned characters and brands and gives us a particular focus on the US market place," said Mike Heap, ER's ceo. "We have tracked this library for a number of years believing it to be one of the few remaining global libraries available and a unique opportunity for the Group to become a truly one-stop shop for children’s and family programming, characters and brands."
The acquisition of the Filmation library gives ER ownership of these titles worldwide in perpetuity, across television, video and DVD, licensing and merchandising, computer games, recorded music, music publishing as well as certain feature-film and re-make rights.
I remember in one episode of this show, somebody got their head chopped off in one scene, it was a public execution I think, it seemed pretty graphic for a 70s kid show, & it scared the hell out of me and always stuck with me...any body know which episode and what happened? Am I even remembering it right?
