Animation costs were climbing in the 70s but networks were getting stingier with their KidVid budgets.
Filmation had never had much money to begin with.
Thus they were no doubt relieved to discover they could create simplistic live series for less money than their animated shows.
I loved SPACE ACADEMY and JASON OF STAR COMMAND. Pamelyn Ferdyn, Brian Tocci, Jonathan Harris, Sid Haig as Drago-- cool!
