after watching this movie i can't even tell anymore who is Talos. riley or the mummy? the mummy calls riley "highness". talos was pretty damn powerful and wouldn't call anyone that. was riley actually a reincarnation of talos' past lover or what? that'd just be damn weird.

Talos was just given a title. I think the ending was weak they tried to do a twist that just fell flat.

Seven of Talos' followers each consumed one of his organs, and all of them had been reincarnated in the present day (one of them as a dog).
When Talos reclaimed 'his' organs from each of the reincarnated, he absorbed some of their DNA. That's why, when we first see Talos' incomplete new body at the end of the film, his legs have backward-facing joints like a dog's hind legs - it's due to the canine DNA.
Riley was the reincarnation of Talos' wife, the princess who consumed his heart. My theory: as the heart is the most important organ, and blood pumps through it to the rest of the body, after Talos placed it in his chest Riley's DNA proceeded to overwrite the DNA from the other reincarnated followers, thus transforming Talos' body into a duplicate of Riley's.
