Movie Violates All Sorts of Physical Laws

How do they descend from what was it...50,000 feet or so down to the 10,000 ideal so soon without anybody's ears imploding? Come on, even the gradual altitude modifications that come with landings are very painful on the ears of most! And nobody complains of ear pain even once in the movie! Not even the interesting "Playing God" argument was enough to redeem this movie. And what about the military helicopter? How did it find the plane so soon? How did a chopper with an ideal speed of maybe 230 MPH max possibly keep up with a 400 MPH jet? How could they shoot the tail without hitting any passengers...even from ricochet?

Apart from blatant defiance of physics, the probabilities are far-fetched.

A very late reply to this thread but you are wrong about the chopper. The plane couldnt go faster than 180knts because of its damage in reality the chopper mite be able to keep up with it as long as it was below 15-20000 ft. You are right about the ear popping though, although i dont know if the plane clibmed that high

I noticed that 9/10ths of the way thru this stinker, the elevators started working and no one in the cockpit noticed:)

I'll give it a 2. IT would be a one, but I like Annette O'Tool

When it takes altitude, an airliner has a much lower speed than if it had gone straight or descent, so an Apache can keep close to it.
The biggest 'physical' mistake in this movie is when one of the 3 guys trying to get the hose in the plane trough the open hatch is simply reaching it's arm out and grabing the end of the hose, which has a bag on it. In that moment, the airplane it's going a little faster than before, because it got its nose a bit lower. The wind outside should have ripped that man's arm trying to reach the hose, but it didn't.
Anyway, the movie is not so bad, it's definetly much better than those *beep* movies with terrorists hijacking planes, and some of the acting is quite good.
