They need to bring the Japanese Version on DVD!

Anyone agree?

reply

Totally!!! It's too bad even if they did that they probably wouldn't be abe to get any of the guys that did the original TV series to voice it in English.

reply

I wouldn't mind if it was just in Japanese with english subtitles, I just want to see what happens, since a ton of things happen in Headmasters I hear, like Galvatron dies I think and so does Convoy aka Optimus Prime, so I've been told!

reply

Yeah I guess that would be better than nothing. I also heard that Ultra Magness dies (by Sixshot)and that Soundwave and Blaster duke it out to the death!! Headmasters definitly sounds like it had more balls than the American Transformers show.

reply

Even Ultra Magnus dies too? WOW! Not all that lighthearted, is it?

reply

Transformers: Headmasters is getting released in a boxset on September 26th. It's a UK release, but it will be Region 0 so it can be played worldwide. The boxset will contain the horrid English dub, aswell as the original Japanese dub with newly made English subtitles. Then in 2006, Masterforce and Victory will be released with the same treatment.

reply

Are you serious? That's AWESOME! Thanks alot!

Have a look around Metrodome's official site, it has all the info about their new box set for Headmasters.

reply

It's been on DVD for quite some time. http://cgi.ebay.com/TRANSFORMERS-G2-HEADMASTERS-MASTERFORCE-VICTORY-30-DVD_W0QQitemZ9108452974QQcategoryZ617QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I have those sets, they're actually good quality. You have to get used to the new dubbed voices though. It really throws you off. But it's still ok.

reply

I think what we Americans want to know is: Will it be sold in the U.S.?

"Hi, I'm Steve-O, this is my house, and I'm *beep* ing sick of that fan."

reply

I...am an American. I bought that release all the same.

reply

Probably not. But you CAN order it off AmazonUK. I'm going to.

Actually, the weird names only came from the poor Singapore Eng dub version. I never watch Eng dubs for they mess up on the translation and voice acting. In the Japanese dub, Blaster is renamed Broadcast, and not Billy. If you do get Headmasters on dvd, stick with the Japanese dub. The odd thing is that the Japanese version swears quite a bit. Not the F word but S word.

reply

how about the versions we all see on ebay, i know those aren't official but do they have great quality because i really don't want to wait forever to see a
u.s. release and they at least have subs on them. what do yall think

reply

This series/message board is way to hard to find.

Not sure what I think to this series. I just can't get into it.

Doesn't help that characters have strange names Blaster = Billy for a while.

We also have a Willy and several other ridiculous names!

No wonder the toyline died a death.

Theme tune was a cracker though.... HEAD ON! HEAD ON! HEAD ON!

reply

The overall show is pretty mediocre.

No wonder it was not released in the US. It is ok overall. It has a good start (really good actually) but soon goes downhill fast with poor storylines.

reply

The region 4 version is listed as Coming Soon on EzyDVD.com.au so it's definitely not just a UK release.

Try not to take life too seriously, no one gets out alive.

reply

They should've included the infamous english dub. I actually won a free copy of the DVD from an online contest, but have yet to watch. I downloaded the english dub instead.
