My Thoughts On This
Okay, so following on from the first two awesome movies then the third slightly dodgy yet still enjoyable one, comes this pile of horsesh*t!
Actually, it's not that bad. But it is pretty bad. There are so many things about this series that makes it bad, but it doesn't make it totally bad. Basically they could've made this work but decided not to.
Having only seen the first episode, I'm hoping it's gonna improve. But let's face it, who starts a series THAT badly? I downloaded this series out of curiosity but look what that did to the cat!
Anway, here are a few things I think are wrong with this series, VERY wrong!
1) Voice acting is TERRIBLE! They've given Raph Mikey's voice. I swear the first time I heard him speak when they were in the shadows, I thought it was Mike. And Don sounds like a high school geek!
2) The costumes. I'm not talking about the turtle costumes. They're not SO bad. I'm talking about what the Turtles are wearing. I mean, for a start look at their bandanas! They cover the WHOLE frickin head practically. And what's with those taped legs and arms?
3) What's with the weapons? Leo only has ONE Katana, Dons Staff is a thin silver rod and I haven't seen Mikes Nunchukas yet. Only Raph has the two sais present and correct and so far he's failed to even pull them from his belt.
4) What the fack is that weird dreamy subplot? I lost it right there. There's no need for a story in Japan. It's only use was to introduce us to Turtle no.5. Which leads me onto..
5) A girl Turtle? A Fackin Girl Turtle! What the hells up with that? And why does she have to wear blue too? How can you tell the difference between a group of Turtles that look the same? I know we'll give them different coloured bandanas but wait, just to *beep* things up even more we'll give two Turtles the SAME colour! What's wrong with yellow? That's a nice bright girly colour!
6) The fight scenes are awful. Could've done a lot better. And how are we supposed to look up to these Turtles if all four of them get taken out by a girl, and tied up! (Ok so I've started to watch episode 2, still no better!)
To be fair, this was a good idea. After the success of the movies, a live action series could have worked. I know I loved the movies as a kid and still do, and this could've been something good. But for the awful acting, horrendus costumes, terrible voices, and *beep* plot, it could've been good.
Ah well, I guess we can thank the makers of this mess that us turtle fans will never see another live-action adaptation again.
