I always thought that since "Missing Persons" was made before "Keeping Up Appearances" it seems that Hyacinth was inspired from an earlier version of Hetty Wainthropp. It is also very easy to confuse Richard and Robert. And if Hyacinth were to ever take up private investigating, she wouldn't be too different than Hetty. Hetty's personality seems to be a calmer version of Hyacinth but you can still see and hear the resemblance.

Perhaps they are cousins lol.

I was thinking the same thing, just watching now! I think PR is a powerful actress. And, I'll admit that I will probably forever see her as Hyacinth. So I do see the mannerisms and expressions she takes with her.

What throws me off is how Robert is so unlike Richard, and I'll get them confused, expecting a more Richard-like response instead of Roberts.
