Fielding Said He Is Not Sure

i have the movie playing right now, and he says at the end, when he looks out the window, that he is not sure if seeing her was real or his imagination.

i respect the opinion of the people who have read the book. i trust you guys' view, really. but i am not sure why they would put this voiceover at the end, if she was really real.

it does add mysteriousness to the movie though, huh. i love this movie.

the thought of seeing that important person one last time, is so poignant and poetic and bittersweet, it gives the end HUGE power, IMO

I agree, this ending scene is so beautiful and moving, very haunting.
I really like the fact that Sarah's mystery (is she alive or not?) is left to your imagination, and in the same time Keith Gordon manages to deliver a sense of hope for Fielding's fate at the end.
Very beautiful ending,great actors,great film.
