What does the title mean?

What is the meaning of the term "Six Ways To Sunday"?

reply

I'm not 100% sure... There might not even be any real significance to it. If my memory serves me, Isaac Hayes' character says "Six ways to Sunday" in a semi-important sentence. So my best guess would have to be that's where the title came from.

Hope this helps although I'm not sure this is totally accurate:

I seem to recall hearing the phrase getting your @ss kicked six ways to Sunday. I could be mistaken.

I always thought it was "six ways from Sunday", and I took it to be synonymous with "every which way but loose". I have no idea where it originated though.
