I enjoyed this until the ending. (minor spoilers)

I was really liking this movie. Cool monsters, fun chase scenes, etc. But then the ending happened. Or didn't happen. Did they run out of money and couldn't film an ending? Did they just not feel like ending it? I mean, I read that this flick suffered from some production problems, but this was just silly. And what was with that bizzare inter-dimensional portal in the back of the van?

I recently had a conversation with Daniel Burrell who played slasher in the movie but he couldnt shed any light on the ending either,he said his scenes were filmed in 1984 and that the film did suffer and took a long time to come out,one of my theories is that the maniacs are the most evil people from either through time or from all around the universe, the caveman, the samurai, the medevil archer, juice a robot from the future and so on,god only knows what the real story is.

Well, if it actually was an inter-dimensional portal (which is what I thought), wouldn't that mean we got to know how these creatures came to us? It felt extremely inconclusive and unsatisfying, but if we're right on that, then we did at least get some answers about what the hell they are... Some a-holes from another dimension.

But yeah, it did feel very inconclusive, nonetheless. :/

I'd say you could look at this as a movie made with "Phantasm (1979)" like logic in mind but then there's the "prophecy" and the d'n'd looking cards so they could also be some sort of demonic minions. From what little I could dig up on the net, it looks like the movie ran out of money, yeah, but also the screenwriter obviously didn't really know how to explain them.
