If ya like b grade slashers, then this film is for you. People seem to hate almost all films that arent action packed. I havent meet an old school slasher i didnt like at least a little bit! HAHA!
Re: Good Stuff. by - pashosh20 on Wed Jul 14 2010 04:34:54 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm an old school slasher fanand it was by far one of the top 5 worst early 80's slasher I've seen... and I've seen dozens.
Don't get me wrong. I certainly wasn't doing cartwheels while watching this. I just thought it was a decent enough movie to keep me entertained for a while.

It's bad alright, but I enjoyed it much more than The Forest, Death Screams (another slasher with a fat, obnoxious sheriff), Silent Madness, Offerings, and Nightmare at Shadow Woods. Honeymoon Horror is as rough as any of those, butat least it boasts some fun makeup on the scarred killer. The obscurity is part of the attraction, as is the fact that it is so unpolished - some of the other extremely low budget slashers simply play like flatter, cheaper, less competent versions of better movies. Honeymoon Horror is not so well-informed, so it at least has a few surprises.
I enjoyed Silent Madness, Death Screams and Nightmare At Shadow Woods, though to truly enjoy Nightmare At Shadow Woods it must be seen in the original uncut version under its original title Blood Rage.
I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.
I wouldn't go so far as to say this movie was "Good Stuff". I've seen worse but this one was pretty bad. The kills were quite lame only because of sloppy editing. I mean towards the end when that one girl gets killed in the kitchen with the axe you can clearly see part of the "blood pack" under her housecoat squirting the blood as she's lying on the floor.
I admit I watch movies to spot goofs like this one. Visible boom mics etc. gives me a chuckle. A classic example is Sudden Impact with Clint Eastwood. When he's in the woods shooting his gun and his black friend pulls up in a car you can clearly see the reflection of the camera and operator in the car window when he gets out.
