Milk and Bread?

Is that actually what he's eating in that scene where he's sitting in the kitchen?

reply

Yep, it seems so :) I'm amazed to see new comments on a movie this old. I just watched it tonight for the first time!

reply

Ever tried it? Im a fan of cornbread and milk myself. My granny always said it was better than any cake. ; )

Ninjas.
Because thats just how I roll.

reply

no i haven't but i guess i will have to now!

reply

i just saw it for the first time recently and absolutely loved it (except the condo scene when he's such an jerk to her, kicking her out)! what did you think?

reply

I'm watching it for the first time right now. I was surprised to see him eating the milk and bread. I haven't done that in years! Someone above mentioned cornbread. I think I'm the only one in my family who prefers milk and bread/cornbread to buttermilk and cornbread.

reply

People, those are Nilla Wafers he is crushing up in the milk.

reply

Nilla wafers? Interesting. Hope I get to see it again and I'll pay more attention.

reply

It is indeed Vanilla Wafer cookies he is eating. I've tried that and its delicious. Almost like eating pudding.

He's taking the knife out of the Cheese!
Do you think he wants some cheese?

reply

that's legal?

He was right to kick her out. As he said, everyone was betting against him, including the person who should have been supporting him the most. He was an elite among elites, the game was his life. He was 40 and single, there was nothing but baseball in his life, all his life and he was trying to come back from a devastating injury. Sports is so much about confidence, and she was bringing him down.

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

reply

It is bread. Costner said in an interview that he remembered his dad eating bread and milk growing up so he put it in the movie as a tribute to his dad.

reply

My mom ate that all the time.
