Did Billy sleep with his masseuse

I can't decide. For some reason this movie has re-entered my life, and I can't stop watching it. I watched with a freind, and she swears yes. I'd seen the movie over and over and over on Encore and never thought that. What do you all think?

reply

yeah.. he did... because she comes down the stairs in her underwear when kelly preston shows up at the door.

reply

Did or didnt the intent was there and whats worse the want to do something or doing it?

reply

"Did or didnt the intent was there and whats worse the want to do something or doing it?"

Um, I can 'want' to punch someone in the face for looking at me crosseyed. Nothing is wrong with 'wanting' to do that. But if I were to actually punch that person in the face, then that would be terribly wrong.

You can want to do things all you want, and nothing is wrong with that. But acting on those wants could be considered wrong in certain situations.

Everybody has cheated then, killed then, harmed and stolen by that accord. Wanting and doing are not the same at all. Not doing something shows restraint. I don't think he did cheat though, I've known a few masseuses that wear underwear because they feel comfortable with the person because they may have had sexual encounters in the past and its easier to move around and massage someone with less on. I think he liked Jane too much to do that which is why he didn't want Jane to see the masseuse walking around mostly naked because it gives that impression.

reply

Yes he did. Only because when Jane storms off and he chases her down to her car,he asks her..."what happened to when we are apart, you live your life, and I live mine??"...as if he is trying to justify the act.Plus when he answered the door, He knows that he has been caught, and he tells jane about his heart leaping in his chest at the sight of her,to justify his feelings for Jane.

reply

true...but if you were a guy and had a chick upstairs and the girl you want to be with walks in, wouldn't your normal reaction be that of panic, and wanting to get her out of there? he was calm and sincerely joyful that she was there..it's hard to figure out. i think whether he f'd her or not is insignificant to the theme of the movie. either way, kelly preston feels like she's not #1 in his life because of their jobs and locations.

reply

I don't think she did. Sure she game down the stairs in her underwear asking for a blowdryer, but she apparently just got out of the shower, so it's very believable that she was wearing what she was wearing. If they've had a long-term friendship, it would't be out of the ordinary for her to walk around wearing that. It's not like she was naked. If I were downstairs and my wife came down the stairs dressed like that, you wouldn't necessarily assume we just slept together, would you?

reply

Think about it logically.

If he hadn't slept with her, don't you think he would have spent more time pleading his case that he didn't sleep with her? He voluntarily said he liked her after she asked him, "Why?" And re-itterated their deal of having their own seperate lives.

So i think the answer is undeniably, YES.

reply

Duh, he slept with her.

How can you know how to spell masseuse and not know that?

reply

actually i dont think they slept a wink

reply

Yes. I believe it's obvious, and constructive to plot development, that they did. And I agree with "Richardpaperboy".

Did he sleep with his masseuse?!?
Did you see his masseuse? What kind of stupid question is that?

Oh, there he goes off to his room to write that hit song "Alone in my principles."

reply

That chick was smoking!

reply

Yes, he did. There's no question.

I think it was purposefully left ambiguous.

I personally think they hadn't just slept together. What would be the point of telling Jane, "I like her. She's my masseuse."

The masseuse walking downstairs with wet hair and a shirt, asking for a blowdryer, means she just showered. Billy was completely dressed in his ball-player workout gear.

I think Billy knew that Jane was going to assume the worst, which is why he prefaced the conversation with how he felt about her.

reply

Did you see that girl? Billy folded her up like a lawn chair and did things he would not do to a farm animal!

reply

wow are you people retarded? does a movie have to show tits and softcore porn for people to get the message?? i mean she was more then half naked, just got out of the shower "can i use your hairdrier?" billy prefaces all of this with the whole heart leapt speach....what i think the worst thing he did in that scene was still ask jane to stay i was like WTF....who is like "oh you just slept with her let me jump into bed and show you what I can do."...?

anyways yes he had sex with his masseuse

reply

great answer. I totally agree.

"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"

reply

No, he didn't sleep with her. They just had sex. No sleeping.

He's taking the knife out of the Cheese!
Do you think he wants some cheese?

reply

I assumed Billy did sleep with her, and she possibly spent the night.

Just because they didn't show the two of them rolling around in the bed as proof doesn't mean a thing. Of course he slept with her. They gave every indication that she spent the night and that he was willing, as was she. Don't you think the first thing out of his mouth would've been "its not what it looks like" if he hadn't...There is just no reason to think he didn't have sex with her...
