IMO this movie was the worst movie I have ever seen. I was at a friends house and this came on so we decided to watch it and it was terrible, but for some reason we watched the whole thing. I think the director did some acid and then took random shots of *beep* and pieced together a "movie". This movies lame attempt to be "artsy" completely failed and made it entirely too boring. I know I'm gonna get flamed for this but I just don't see how anyone could like this.
shareI'm just sitting here channel surfing and saw the last 10 minutes of it and I'm like "WTF?" After that, I'm having doubts that I'll return to see this movie in its entirety. The director was definitely on acid.

Right, people want good movies, but good movies are largely worthless.
The Loss of Sexual Innocence is a bad film, which makes it valuable. A fortune made by truculence.
Pretty much agree with your entire post, WesIsALeo. Especially, "Loss isn't a very good movie, but it's a fascinating and unique one to me. More like an experience than simply a film." I found it interesting to watch, also... and so very intense in parts. I don't know if I would classify it as a "good movie" either, but I think it succeeded on its own terms, if that makes sense. It makes me wish that Mike Figgis still made films of this sort, instead of going to the dark side with stuff like "Cold Creek Manor."

shareThis film was irritating to watch. I don't say that about films very often as I usually enjoy all movies I see. The editing was difficult to get through at times (when they arrive at the country home and it keeps fading in and out of black as the camera slowly zooms in...very irritating). I did like the acting and music very much, though.
sharegunstar_hero - I know what it is like to not like a films, but remember, if every film was for everyone, we would only be getting one film a week that everyone went out to see. I liked this film also, but just because you came across someone that did not like it, does not mean you should insult them or tell them to watch wrestling (which gives a lot of people plenty of pleasure - not me - but I know you intended that as a low brow insult).
There are so many movies I like that other people hate and vice versa. Because someone did not like this movie (which we both like and probably have similar film preferences), does not mean you should insult them as a person for having different tastes then you.
Personally, everyone thinks I'm nuts for hating tomatoes, and I think it is disgusting for them to like them, but I would never attack their brain power and tastes (pun) over that. Differences make us human, attacking over the difference is something much more ugly.
There are only few movies that touch your heart and can give you a new perspective on things.The Loss Of Sexual Innocence is one of those films.The people who knock this film must have a low depth perception or are one those who never loved or been loved.
