I could never get the Crystal ending (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

I don't know if there was something wrong with the game copy I had or if I was doing something wrong, but for some reason I could never get the ending where you stick to your job and kill Clovis and Sadik, even playing with the strategy guide and doing what it told me. Which really sucks, because that is in fact the ending I really wanted to get.

I killed Zuben right away, I killed the suspects who were replicants (except Lucy, I'd always allow her to get away) I got the evidence to clear my name from Guzza just before he gets shot and I let Sadik kill Guzza.

And yet still, whenever I'd return from my apartment after escaping from the sewer I'd find the dog Maggie dead, which according to the guide means you're now going to get the ending where you team up with the replicants. Anytime I'd try to get the Blade Runner ending I'd always instead get the ending where you escape off-world with Clovis and Sadik. I've always been really upset that I could never get the ending that I wanted.

One other thing that bugged me is the way the main character Ray McCoy always waves his arms around whenever he speaks. That always seemed really dumb and annoying to me. I think just hearing him speak would have been enough for us to know when he's talking.
