I see very little activity on this board, but i need to know..

.. am I the only one that nearly tore all my hair out because Brendan and Leo didn't end up together? I get that it's supposed to teach us something about bisexuals, but they were sooo cute together!! :) And they build them up as lovers so well, it just killed me when all of the sudden everyone randomly paired up.

reply

No, you aren't the only one! I hated the ending too.

But at least Darren and Jeremy ended up together. That was good to see.

reply

Yes, I hated it too, they really didn't focus it enough, near the end. They build them up, taking them somewhere very pleasant, and I wanted to see how it would have gone, but then shortly after Brendan talks about not wanting to be in a serious relationship, we don't see anyone dealing with that, instead, just Leo getting entirely side-tracked by Sally and forgetting Brendan entirely! It was pretty upsetting, especially how they just threw Brendan together with the weird guy of the group. Why? -Just because- they were both into men at that point??

I just watched this...how in hell do they believe any reasonable person would let go of James Purefoy is beyond me. I mean that was such an unbelievably whack way to end the film. and what the hell was the point of having brenden go on about leo only to have him cheat on brenden? It's like this dudes about to give you what you wanted and so you decide to through it away. Weird

I suspect a lot of people were very disconcerted and disappointed by the ending.

I, however, am not one of them. Yes Brendan/Leo were interesting, and did make a dynamic pair, but I fell pretty much in love with the Sally/Leo pairing and thus the ending, while admittedly unexpected, was the one I was quietly rooting for.

reply

Old thread, but yes, I was disappointed. Don't think Brendan and the weird guy will last. Brendan seemed annoyed (not that i blame him) with everything he did.

Malek: It is essentially an asexual process.
O'Neill: That why you guys take hosts?
Stargate SG-1

Nope, I approve of the ending. It was extremely refreshing and unexpected to see bisexuality also go in the other way. It always happens in movies that the straight guy finally admits to himself and is suddenly "gay" and lives happily ever after with the other gay guy, so it's nice to see that not all used-to-be-straights in the end end up gay (goes for both of them).

Oh man, no you're not alone! Just watched this and loved it up until the end! What in the HELL were they thinking?

He is not our enemy!

It annoyed me to no end. What made it more frustrating is that Brendan and Leo actually had much better chemistry than Leo and Sally and were very sexy together. I had to get my fix with this couple by watching "Rome." LOL. But, yeah; stupid ending. They were trying to make a point about bisexuality but, they ended up losing the story: they broke up a perfectly likable couple and didn't do a good buildup of Leo/Sally so the ending felt random and tacked on.
