IMDB to the rescue...again!

It was Len from The Smoking Room, playing the blacksmith with the disgraced daughter. If it wasn't for IMDB, that would have niggling the back of my brain for days!

I enjoyed this film, but really, it hasn't made me want to read any Catherine Cookson. The film felt like a holiday novel - fun while I was doing the ironing, but no lasting impression. Except for Mr Purefoy, of course.

He was also Mr Seaton in When the Boat Comes In. Now that's a classic series worth repeating.
