NOT ACCURATE

This is not an accurate series. Charlomagne was crowned a roman emperor in 800 by the pope as the successor of Constantine VI the byzantine emperor and in a way the western empire was revived in 800 (from 476 to 800 the western nations gave their allegiance to the byzantine emperor of new rome) but this was ignored in this series.

PLEASE MAKE AN ACCURATE MOVIE CONSERNING CHARLOMAGNE BECAUSE IN THE 8TH CENTURY THE ROMAN EMPIRE WAS STILL UNITED.

Who cares? It's not a documentary. I love this series the way it is.

So what the heck ? If it's not a documentary it doesn't mean it should be a fiction series. People want to know the TRUE CHARLEMAGNE and i care for the glory of the roman empire to be presented RIGHT IN THE MOVIES...

I think it's a bit ridiculous to attack this series on such a point.
From what I've read, and from what I've heard from historians discussing Charlemagne (and sometimes the series) on the radio, it is very accurate for most of the things that matter.

I don't really see myself how the point you make is misrepresented. They don't particularly insist on terminology and whether there were two empires or only one, or whether one had disappeared completely or been integrated into the other...

Of course, they did add a number of things that can't be checked, simply because a lot of things can't be known, and there are sometimes several versions about others. Things about Charles's personal life, for instance, are obviously made up to make it a little better as a film. They also added a few references to the legend of Charlemagne, in particular with Roland and Ganelon (I think they found a good balance between the legend and the truth).

In short I think they did a great job, and when you see how many historical movies distort history beyond recognition, I think attacking this one is quite unfair.
Movies are movies, although I'm usually annoyed at unnecessary distortions of known facts, they're also made to be watchable, and if you're obsessed with historical accuracy you don't usually make a good film.

I'm not attacking. I love all movies // series which are about or related to the great roman empire. I just stated the facts. I wanted to see charlemagne crowned as A ROMAN EMPEROR. I Didn't. I Wanted to see charlemagne presented as irene's (empress of new rome) roman general of the west. I didn't. PERIOD.

Then they should pick up a book, if they can't be bothered to watch a documentary.

If it's not a documentary it doesn't mean it should be a fiction series.

Yes, it does. Movies entertain. Documentaries educate.
