jonathan brandis

its been 6 1/2yrs since jonathan brandis left this world as we know it. sadly not much is written about him anymore and i invite anyone who would like to talk about him again. he was such a good actor and his story of lonliness is so sad. so many actors especially ones who started out as children feel lost in the crowd and go unappreciated in adult hood. in harts war (bruce willis) jonathans role was almost completely cut out. gramercy park was not picked up on tv and i saw previews of it and it was never given a chance. jonathan looked great and i wonder had it gone on the air if things may have picked up for him and the outcome may have been different. all in all he was obviously in serious pain emotionally and its easy now to go back and say what if. we should be more aware of our surroundings and people who are in it reaching out for help. like river phoenix, heath ledger, and michael jackson all 4 were quiet out of the public eye sort of men and all had sense of humors yet brooding personalities. all seemed like lost lonely souls. i can only hope they are all in heaven now resting peacefully with God.

Rest In Peace Heath Ledger you will be deeply missed.

I'm just discovering Jonathan Brandis' work now. He was actually a really great actor and the roles he got really didn't reflect the amount of talent he had. He's not as well remembered as he should be but at the same time he does still have quite an impressive following which seems to be growing all the time, even 6 and a half years after his (untimely) death. It really doesn't help that a lot of his stuff isn't easily available on DVD though. I remember watching Two Came Back when it first aired in the UK but only because it had 'Sabrina' in and I was only about 7 at the time so I can't remember much of it at all. It'd be cool to see again, even if it's not the best film ever made.

Yes, I particularly like Jonathan playing the part of the boy Bill in Stephen King's IT - he was only 14 years old at the time and his acting was excellent.
