Is the Movie Remotly Historically Accurate? (spoilers)

Are any of the events in the movie historically accurate. I realize that the movie is fictionalized, but I was curious as to what (if anything) was true, such as at the end of the film Walt gets away, and writing of 19 all over the elevator (which we later realize is because nobody lives on the 19th floor even thought student services says it's where Walt's girlfriend lives). As with all of the provisions and setup on the roof, I'm just curious as to what is based on fact and what was dramatized for the film?

It's a completely fictional movie. The only thing that is even remotely close to fact is that it is loosely based on the school shooting from an observation tower at the University of Texas by Charles Whitman. Otherwise, everything in this movie is fictional (maybe some fact is given to shootings directly correlated to the real Whitman's but I highly doubt it).

Well, my girl did disappear, I was a crack shot and Eagle Scout, and 19 seems to be a big recurrence in my life...

never shot anyone though...nobody believes me to this day
