Altman's Best Since 'Popeye!'

I swear to you, his best since Popeye!!

Popeye, I says!!!!

Popeye. 'Nuff said.

This movie blows. However, it is amazingly long and ends about 5 different times with completly useless "twists" that are about as interesting as the jokes are funny.

Good on ya, Hollywood!!!

I'm looking foward to the next Elecktra remake, too.

I loved this movie and I concur that POPEYE is his worst film.

Going to give it a try. One of few ALtmans I've not seen.
Like the mel-87 review here. Yes Popeye was disappointing.
It needed to be more like Depp's Pirates.

One of my fave ALtmans
McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971)

You know, I think Popeye was about as good as it could be. At least he made it true to the spirit of the cartoon. It's just that no one really LIKES those cartoons anymore. Or Popeye himself, for that matter. They may be a little nostalgic for Popeye, but they don't like him enough to endure an entire movie.

As for Cookie's Fortune, the wonderful thing about is the slow pace and the genuine love of the characters that the movie demonstrates. It's really a great movie.

I haven't seen this movie in a dozen years, so I don't remember much about it.

What I *do* remember is how unaccountably hot Liv Tyler was with that haircut.

Looks like my opinion of this was dead on with the average everybody, as I rated it a 7, its average rating is a 7, and its metascore or w/e it's called is a 70/100. (even though the later isn't technically a rating)

Right before this movie I watched Snowpiercer and rated it only a 6, and somehow (how, I don't know) its metascore is almost 90!!!
